California, Knows How to Party...

Forgot to update, we took a quick last-minute trip to San Fran/Yosemite a few weeks ago. I had a free ticket, and United had a last-minute special, so we went to old Cali, or as Andrea refers to it, "Adrian's obsession."

Anyhoo, had a great time, weather was great. In Yosemite it was upper 60s and sunny, and in San Fran it was typical - sunny and cold wind.

The best part of the trip was this: Last day. We are heading to the airport, it is beautiful outside, no wind, probably 65, and it is opening day for the Giants. We see tons of people going to the ballpark. (Of course it is always hard to end a vacation.) We get to the airport, and hear this:

"There is a weather alert in Colorado Springs, snow and fog. If we cannot land in Colorado Springs, the alternate will be Grand Junction."

Now, on your best day, you do not want to hear that. I can't actually think of any case you would want to hear that. Andrea of course laughed, and looked nervously at me. I simply said that if we had to stay the night somewhere, it sure as hell was not going to be Grand Junction. In any case, we were able to fly into Colorado Springs. So it worked out.

I guess.

Yosemite Valley - it was hazy

Pensive

In front of Yosemite Valley.

A waterfall

You can raft down this river.

Some local plant life.

A cool road sign.

There was some snow. This was our attempt at seeing a giant sequoia. It failed.

Yosemite Valley

The famous Bush Man. He scared one couple so bad, the dude fell, and pulled his gal down on top of him. Good stuff.

Cool beer bottle pic.

This was right outside of a random restaurant we ate at in Chinatown. They were celebrating elections in Taiwan. (Obviously.)

This is in the heart of Chinatown. Looks like El Cajon Blvd to me, but then again.

Our hotel

We toured a WWII supply ship, and a WWII sub. Clearly not learning from my Captain Nemo experience, I went on this sub. I determined I would not be fit for sub duty. I wanted off that thing the second I entered its constricting, oxygen-lacking, walls-closing-in bowels.
